During the call, they'll invite you to share your needs and hopes for therapy. It's also a chance for you to learn more about your therapist and what they offer, as well as express any concerns or questions you may have about starting therapy.

A common misconception about couples therapy is that people only seek professional support when their relationship is in trouble.
It's true that sometimes people consider therapy after other problem-solving attempts have been exhausted or when emotional injuries occur that they feel unable to repair on their own. Therapy can indeed greatly help with impasses in the relationship and make sure attempts at healing and connection stay respectful and productive.
Other times, though, couples are looking for assistance in establishing healthy and mutually satisfying dynamics during the initial stages of a relationship or prior to embarking on a new stage in the relationship, such as living together, getting married, opening/closing their relationship, or having a baby.
Some couples also seek therapy because they want to work on a specific aspect of their relationship, such as their sex life, within an otherwise loving and fulfilling partnership.

We focus on what's most alive for YOU. Sometimes people seek therapy with a specific concern that they want to focus on. For others, the focus of the session may change week-to-week depending on what's going on for you. If you're not sure what you want to talk about, that's okay too. There are many ways we can help you get in touch with yourself and what's needed to achieve the changes you want in your life.
Is virtual therapy effective?
YES! It's now clear that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. And sometimes more effective if it allows people to attend more consistently or feel safer opening up in the comfort of their own home.
